Government Funding
Can I claim government funding for grab rails?
Many clients can — but approval must happen before installation. Grab rails may be funded under My Aged Care (65+) or NDIS (under 65 with disability).
The Typical Process:
- Assessment: An OT visits to assess your functional needs.
- Recommendation: The OT issues a report/scope of work.
- Quotation: We provide a formal quote based on that report.
- Approval: Your provider (e.g., NDIS or Home Care Case Manager) approves the funds.
- Installation: We schedule and complete the work.
If rails are installed privately before approval, reimbursement is usually not possible.
